Lok Paritran Karnataka President Naganna removed after attacks on the National Committee
B.T. Naganna, who was the Karnataka State President, has been removed from all positions in the Party after he attacked the National General Secretary, Shri. Tanmay Rajpurohit, on Saturday, the 10th of May. Police complaints have been filed against Naganna and a press conference was held today to make the announcement public.
Founder and National President, Shri. Chandrashekhar, announced that certain facts had recently come to light about B.T. Naganna, the Karnataka State President of Lok Paritran, which cast doubt on the suitability of his presidency. It has been brought to our notice that Naganna has been misreporting his educational qualification, and is not the holder of a B.E. degree as he claims, since he left before completion of the degree. Further and more significantly, Naganna has been allegedly implicated in the murder of two men. Naganna was faced with the charges and not being able to provide adequate explanation, was stripped of his post in the Party on Saturday, the 10th of May. In response he violently attacked the National General Secretary, Shri. Tanmay Rajpurohit, that very night and threatened to kill him. He hurled a large stone at Shri. Tanmay Rajpurohit at his head at close range, which Shri. Rajpurohit fortunately managed to dodge. The next morning, even as police reports were being filed about the above incident, Naganna attacked the National Legal Advisor Shri. Srikant Chakravarti’s residence with around 15 goons. He tried to force entry into the house, and threatened Shri. Chakravarti’s parents that he would shatter Shri. Chakravarti’s bones if he was found anywhere near his home.
The National General Secretary Shri. Tanmay Rajpurohit said, “Naganna threatened Shri. Nalin Jain, the Lok Paritran candidate from Gandhinagar, and said that he would burn his office down if Shri. Nalin Jain did not admit to the allegations. He has also issued other threats to some other candidates of the Party.
Considering Naganna’s behavior after he was removed from the Presidency the doubts raised about his background do not seem to be unfounded.
Shri. Chandrashekhar said, “Lok Paritran is a Party that has espoused honesty and transparency right from its inception, and the National Committee feels that such a person should not be allowed to continue not only as the State President but also as a primary member of the Party.” Police complaints have been filed, and the National President made the following announcements:
- B.T. Naganna is herewith removed from all positions in the Party
- The Karnataka State Committee is suspended until further notice.
We will update you as further developments happen.
